Defender

Defender is one of the most difficult games of all time. The combination of challenging controls plus relentless enemies attracted many hardcore players who enjoyed a game that tested their skills. Casual players starting Defender may not last even a full minute. Maybe its this difficulty that caused Defender to earn over a billion dollars, one quarter at a time.

Story

When Eugene Jarvis developed Defender, he wanted to justify the action, so he came up with the title Defender to show that you were protecting your planet from these invaders. You fly your ship parallel to the planet's surface, taking out enemies and rescuing humanoids and returning them to the surface.
